Race Day Schedule

5K: Starts at 8:00 AM


Run begins at the entrance of the renovated Los Angeles State Historic Park. Runners will run along a flat and compact trail, enclosed in a safe course that encircles the 1.2 square mile state park.

Virtual Run Option

Cover The Distance, Support The Cause
For those that choose the virtual run option: Choose your local community park and cover 5k (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 Miles) by using your favorite application (Map My Run, Garmin, Strava, Etc.). When you finish, take a photo and share your accomplishment on social media and feel free to tag us!

Race Day Schedule

Volunteer Orientation Booth

  1. 6:00 AM – Located Near the Registration Area. Look for Signage that says “Volunteers.”

Sponsors Booth & Team Set-Up

  1. 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM

5K Run/Walk Start

  1. 8:00 AM

Kid's Run

  1. Starts after the conclusion of the 5K.
    Kids receive a cape and medal.

Starting Lines Rules

  1. Please make your way to the start at approximately 7:45 AM.
  2. Slower runners/joggers start to the back. Runners to the front should consist of 5-7 minute per mile runners.
  3. Pets must be kept on leash at all times.
  4. Please make your way to the start at approximately 7:45 AM
  5. Look out for runners who start with a sprint and abruptly slow down.

Bathrooms

  1. Located by the main entrance of The Los Angeles State Historic Park.

Entertainment

  1. We will have a PA system and music played by popular DJ’s designated by Aztlan Athletics.

Water Stations

  1. At the 1.5 Mile Marker and the finish line.

Results

  1. Results will be posted next to the registration area, near the courtyard between 10:00 AM.
  2. Official results will be posted on-line at the HeroesJourneyRun.com website under the RESULTS tab.

  1. Look out for STAFF in ORANGE vests if you have any additional questions.

Between 6:00 AM - 7:45 AM at the entrance of the Los Angeles State Historic Park courtyard at the Hero’s Journey Run 5K registration booth.

DAY BEFORE REGISTRATION
On Friday April 19, 2019, Bib & T-shirt Pick-Up is from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the entrance of the Los Angeles State Historic Park courtyard.

Parking and Public Transportation

  1. VIP / Vendor / Exhibitor parking located on the North side of the park.
  2. Place your parking pass on the dash.
  3. Free parking on North Spring Street and outside the park area.
  4. Staff will be available to guide cars onto the overflow parking.

Recommended: The China Station on the Blue Line is a 10 minute walk from the starting area and trains run every 15 minutes.
